WPL 2025: The Women’s Premier League (WPL) 2025 will start on February 14th and end on March 15th. This year is special because the tournament will be held in four cities for the first time. The defending champions, Royal Challengers Bengaluru, will play against Gujarat Giants (GG) in the opening match at Kotambi Stadium in Baroda.
The first part of the league will take place in Baroda, making it the city’s first time hosting either the WPL or IPL. Six matches will be played in the newly built stadium, before the action moves to Bengaluru for six more matches.
Lucknow will host the third part of the tournament, with four matches at the Ekana Stadium, marking the WPL’s first event there. The final two league matches, along with the eliminator and final, will be played at Mumbai’s Brabourne Stadium, home to the famous Cricket Club of India (CCI). The much-awaited finale is scheduled for March 15th.
The third season of the event marks a major milestone in its rapid growth. The first season in 2023 was held entirely in Mumbai and its nearby areas, with matches played at iconic venues like the CCI and DY Patil Stadium in Navi Mumbai. In the following year, the tournament expanded to two cities, Bengaluru and Delhi, where matches were also held.

The 2025 WPL season will be held in four cities, continuing the caravan format. The BCCI has not introduced a home-and-away system yet. Mumbai Indians (MI) won the first season, and RCB claimed the title in 2024, with Delhi Capitals (DC) as runners-up both times.
No matches will overlap with India’s men’s team fixtures to avoid clashes with the 2025 Champions Trophy. Rest days are planned for the semi-finals and final. All 22 WPL matches will start at 7:30 p.m. IST, with no double-headers.
