Batting first, UP Warriorz scored a total of 142/9 in their 20 overs. The Warriorz began with a fiery knock by Grace Harris, who continued her aggressive run, scoring 45 runs off 29 balls. Her innings featured six boundaries and two sixes, as she attacked the Mumbai bowlers with confidence. But her efforts were not sufficient to drive the team to a fighting total.
Vrinda Dinesh then scored the top Warriorz contribution of 33 runs from 30 balls. Shweta Shehrawat also made 19 runs, and Uma Chhetri was left not out on 13* runs. Although with a good start, UP Warriorz were not able to build partnerships and kept losing wickets in succession, which kept their total in check.

Mumbai Indians bowlers were crucial in limiting UP Warriorz to a below-par score. Headlining the act was Nat Sciver-Brunt, who was brilliant with the ball, taking 3 wickets for 18 runs from her 4 overs.

The pair compiled a match-winning partnership of 133 for the second wicket, which helped Mumbai Indians achieve their target easily. Matthews was instrumental, making 59 runs off 50 balls. She hit 7 boundaries and 2 sixes in her steady innings, which ensured stability to the chase.
Meanwhile, Nat Sciver-Brunt delivered a superb knock, finishing unbeaten on 75* off 44 balls. Her blistering innings included 13 boundaries, as she took control of the game.

For UP Warriorz, only Deepti Sharma and Sophie Ecclestone had any impact with the ball. The two took one wicket each. They were not, however, good enough to stop Sciver-Brunt and Matthews from chasing the runs down.

Mumbai Indians’ clinical display, spearheaded by Nat Sciver-Brunt’s brilliance, saw them pick their third victory for the season. With a commanding all-around performance, Mumbai chased UP Warriorz’s low score comfortably and topped the WPL 2025 points table.
UP Warriorz, however, will have to work on their middle-order breakdown and tighten their overall act as the tournament resumes. Mumbai’s victory brought out the teamwork aspect, with everyone playing their part to win.
