WTA Qatar Open 2025: Big Players And Points On Offer

The WTA Qatar Open is headed for its 23rd edition even as the 2025 tennis season picks up its pace. The WTA 1000 tournament will see some of the top women tennis players showcasing their on-court prowess. 

The Qatar Open 2025 will be played on outdoor hard courts at the International Tennis and Squash complex in Doha, Qatar, from 9 to 15 February 2025.

The professional tournament features a 64-player singles main draw and a 32-team doubles competition. The star-studded lineup in the competition includes world No. 1 Aryna Sabalenka of Belarus, No. 2 Iga Swiatek of Poland, and America’s Coco Gauff, currently seeded World No. 3.

Other top players include 4th-ranked Jasmine Paolini of Italy, Zheng Qinwen of China, Jessica Pegula of the USA, Elena Rybakina of Kazakhstan, Emma Navarro of the USA, Barbora Krejcikova of the Czech Republic, and Daria Kasatkina of Russia completing the top ten rich field.

WTA Qatar Open 2025: Players who have withdrawn

New Australian Open champion and current world No 7 Madison Keys is the biggest player who will be missing due to a hamstring problem while fellow American Danielle Collins will skip the competition due to a foot injury.

Defending Champions

Singles

Polish girl Iga Swiatek won the women’s singles in the 2024 edition. It was Swiatek’s third consecutive title after securing the 2022 and 2023 championships. This year she will be bidding for her fourth title. 

Doubles

Dutch Demi Shuurs and Brazilians Luisa Stefani lifted the doubles title in 2024 after Jessica Pegula and Coco Gauff had won the two previous editions.

WTA Qatar Open 2025: Prize Money and points on offer

The tournament carries a total prize pool of $3,654,963.

Winner 1000 points, runner-up 650 points, semi-finalists 390 points, quarter-finalists 215 points, 120 points round of 16, 65 points round of 32 and 10 points round of 64.
