WTC 2025–27 Points Table: New Zealand wrapped up a dominant performance against the West Indies with a crushing 323-run win on Monday, December 22, in the third and final Test of the series. The match was played at Bay Oval in Mount Maunganui and marked the end of the West Indies’ all-format tour of New Zealand.

Chasing a massive target of 462 runs, the visitors folded for just 138 in their second innings, never really threatening to challenge the hosts. With this result, New Zealand sealed the three-match Test series 2 0.

Duffy and Patel Lead New Zealand’s Bowling Charge

Fast bowler Jacob Duffy was one of the standout performers for New Zealand. Fresh off being picked by Royal Challengers Bengaluru at the IPL 2026 auction on December 16, Duffy grabbed five wickets for the Black Caps in the final innings.

Spinner Ajaz Patel also played a key role, claiming three wickets as the West Indies batting line-up struggled to cope with the pressure. Together, the bowlers ensured New Zealand stayed firmly in control throughout the Test.

Series Win Boosts New Zealand’s WTC Campaign

The victory in Mount Maunganui gave New Zealand their second straight win over the Roston Chase led West Indies side and had a big impact on the World Test Championship standings.

The 2021 WTC winners moved up from third to second place in the WTC 2025 27 points table. New Zealand now has 28 points and a points percentage of 77.77, allowing them to move ahead of South Africa, who sit on 75.00 PCT%.

West Indies’ WTC Hopes Fade Further

For the West Indies, the outlook is far less encouraging. They remain at the bottom of the WTC table with a points percentage of just 4.16, down from 4.76. After losing seven of the eight Tests they have played so far in this WTC cycle, their chances of finishing in the top two and reaching the WTC 2027 final are almost gone.

Australia continues to set the Pace

Australia remains firmly at the top of the WTC standings. The world number one Test side defeated England by 82 runs in the third Test of the 2025 26 Ashes series on Sunday, taking an unassailable 3 0 lead in the series.

The Baggy Greens have won all six matches they have played in the current WTC cycle, collecting 72 points and maintaining a perfect 100% PCT. England, meanwhile, stays in seventh place, having won only two of their eight matches so far.

India Holds Sixth Spot in WTC 2025–27 Points Table

India currently sits sixth in the table with a points percentage of 48.15. The two-time WTC finalists have recorded four wins from nine matches in the ongoing cycle and will need a strong run going forward to climb back into contention for a spot in the final.

With more key series still to come, the WTC race is beginning to take shape, and New Zealand’s commanding win has added fresh momentum to their campaign.
