How much is his creative hold on WWE content on Netflix? Triple H made a big reveal

2025 marked the beginning of a new era for WWE when the world-renowned promotion moved to the streaming platform Netflix. The change was part of a major deal, which is said to be worth more than $5 billion. However, only “Monday Night Raw” is being aired on Netflix in the US, while fans in other countries can enjoy all the big WWE shows and events on Netflix.

This change was a historic moment for WWE, as it was the first time in the last three decades that “Monday Night Raw” did not air on TV. On January 6, 2025, “Raw” began its Netflix journey from the Intuit Dome and many shocking moments were seen during the show.

After this change, WWE’s creative team has got more freedom than before, giving fans a more real and exciting experience without any censorship. Apart from the US, “Raw,” “SmackDown,” “NXT” and all the big “Premium Live Events” (PLEs) like “WrestleMania” and “SummerSlam” are available on Netflix for international viewers.

Netflix has no interference on WWE’s creative control – Triple H

In a recent interview with BBC Newsbeat, WWE CCO and veteran wrestler Paul ‘Triple H‘ Levesque revealed that Netflix has no interference in the company’s creative plans. He clarified, “We prepare the superstars, write the storylines and design the entire show. No one else has control over our creativity.”

Triple H also revealed that Netflix only determines the duration and broadcast time of the show, but they have no influence on the content of the show. He compared, “Just like no one tells the NFL how to play football, Netflix only distributes our content.”

Triple H’s reaction on John Cena’s retirement

Triple H also made a big disclosure about the retirement of WWE legend John Cena. Cena had announced that he would say goodbye to wrestling at the end of 2025. Triple H told that Cena himself accepted this decision because it was not physically possible for him to play now.

He said, “He himself admitted that he can no longer perform like before. But he wanted to express his gratitude to his fans, so he planned a year-long retirement run.”
