WWE Speed Women's Tournament

WWE has lined up eight championship matches for this weekend, featuring Saturday’s Bash in Berlin PLE and Sunday’s NXT No Mercy PLE. The action started with a first-time-ever title match, and WWE officials have now cleared up some previous championship confusion.

Pete Dunne recently won against Je’Von Evans in the finals of the eight-man WWE Speed tournament, securing a chance to challenge Andrade for the Speed Championship. Dunne, who also produces Speed matches, claimed victory over Julius Creed and Joaquin Wilde in the tournament. Andrade, who dethroned the first champion, Ricochet, in mid-June, successfully defended his title against Baron Corbin and Xavier Woods before his latest title defence.

Andrade retained the WWE Speed Championship against Pete Dunne, The Bruiserweight, in their first-ever matchup. This match aired today on the latest episode of Speed on X. In a close contest, Andrade secured the pinfall with just 48 seconds left in the five-minute match.

WWE Speed Women’s Tournament to Crown First Champion

The inaugural WWE Speed Women’s Tournament is set to begin on Wednesday. There was some initial confusion about the women’s bracket, suggesting there could be an additional half-bracket or just a future #1 contender crowned. However, it was confirmed today that the first eight-woman tournament will crown the inaugural Speed Women’s Champion.

Other first-round matchups include Blair Davenport vs. Naomi, Kairi Sane vs. Elektra Lopez, and Candice LeRae vs. Piper Niven. The championship finals, slated for late September or October, will see SKY or Davenport or Naomi go up against Lopez or Sane or LeRae or Niven.

Pete Dunne Aims for the WWE Intercontinental Championship

Pete Dunne and Jey Uso are getting closer to challenging Bron Breakker for the Intercontinental Championship, following this week’s RAW.

The Bruiserweight advanced in the #1 contender’s tournament by winning a Triple Threat match against The Miz and Xavier Woods. Meanwhile, Main Event Jey Uso defeated Kofi Kingston and Karrion Kross. Next week’s RAW will feature Sheamus vs. Ludwig Kaiser vs. Bronson Reed, and Dragon Lee vs. Ilja Dragunov vs. Dominik Mysterio.

The winners of Monday’s matches will move on to a Fatal 4-Way on September 9, with the victor becoming Bron’s next challenger. While the exact date for the title match hasn’t been confirmed, it is unlikely to take place at the returning Bad Blood PLE, scheduled for almost a month later on October 5.
