The legendary wrestler John Cena will retire from pro wrestling at the end of this year

There are many discussions, and disagreements amongst fans of pro wrestling on various topics, but they have always agreed when it’s about the legendary wrestler John Cena. He is one of the greatest wrestlers WWE ever produced.

John Cena isn’t just the biggest name in the Stamford-based promotion; he’s also one of the most successful stars when it comes to titles and accolades. Cena is currently tied with Ric Flair as a 16-time WWE World Champion.

Cena has also made his mark with the United States Championship, holding it five times in his WWE career. On top of that, he’s a two-time WWE Tag Team Champion and a WWE World Tag Team Champion, each time teaming up with different partners.

Jon Cena kicked off his farewell tour on the Netflix debut episode of Monday Night Raw on January 6. During his appearance, Cena made a big announcement: he’s entering the 2025 Royal Rumble match.

This marks Cena’s ninth Rumble entry. He’s no stranger to the event, having participated in eight Royal Rumble matches before. His first appearance was back in 2003 at the Fleet Center in Boston, Massachusetts. That night, however, ended with him being eliminated by The Undertaker.

Cena’s first Royal Rumble win came in 2008 when he entered as the final participant. Instead of waiting for WrestleMania, he cashed in his title opportunity against WWE Champion Randy Orton at No Way Out on February 17. But there was a twist—Cena won by disqualification, which meant Orton kept the championship.

Cena hit again in 2013, winning the Royal Rumble for the second time in his career. This victory earned him a shot at The Rock’s WWE Championship at WrestleMania 29. The Rock successfully defended his title in a match that went down as an instant classic.
