WWE’s marquee event of the year, Wrestlemania 39 goes to Hollywood on the 1st and 2nd of April. The match card of Wrestlemania 39 already looks pretty stacked up and exciting but with this match, it will be unforgettable.
Dominik Mysterio finally had his wish come true of fighting his father Rey Mysterio after months of disrespecting his father.

Dom for several weeks has been pushing Rey for a match and has been getting rejected by his father.
Dom debuted on August 23, 2020, at the Summerslam. He lost his debut game against Seth Rollins. It was payback time for Dom at Payback 2020 on August 30th as he along with his father, Rey defeated Rollins and Buddy Murphy.
Dominik teamed up with his father Rey at Wrestlemania 37 where he had his first shot at a title. The duo faced the champions Dolph Ziggler and Robert Roode, Street Profits, Otis and Chad Gable for the SmackDown Tag Team Championship. The match was won by the champions as they retained their belt. At WWE Backlash the father-son duo created history as they won the SmackDown Tag Team Championship defeating the tag team of Ziggler and Roode. The Mysterios lost their belt to the Usos at ‘Money In The Bank’ after just 63 days of winning the title.
Dominik after joining The Judgment Day (Finn Bálor, Damian Priest and Rhea Ripley) in September 2022 clashed with his father a lot of times. On March 10, 2023, on a Friday Night SmackDown episode, while Rey was being inducted into the WWE Hall Of Fame Class of 2023, Dom along with The Judgment Day interrupted him.
Dom pushed his father to lay his hands on him after calling him a ‘deadbeat dad’ and wishing that he was Eddie Guerrero’s son. On the penultimate Friday Night SmackDown episode before Wrestlemania 39, Dominik hit Rey’s wife and his mother, Angie. He even told his mother to “shut up”. Rey after watching this rushed back to the ring and accepted Dom’s challenge for a match at Wrestlemania 39.
