The XFL is a professional American football minor league with eight teams situated all across United States in semi to key markets delivered by at least one other major professional team. Seasons span from February through April, with each team playing ten games during the regular season and four teams advancing to the playoffs to determine the season champion. It is centred in Arlington, Texas. Former WWE executive Vince McMahon founded the league in 2018, as a relaunch and predecessor to the league that had the same name, he founded in 2001. McMahon’s Alpha Entertainment previously owned the league as well as its teams.
The XFL is one of three pro leagues in the United States, the other two being the top-tier National Football League and the complicated United States Football League, which is owned by Fox Corporation. The XFL operates during the winter and early spring months, following the conclusion of the NFL season but before the start of the USFL season. The XFL has a player personnel collaboration with the Indoor Football League (IFL), with the league operating as its de-facto minor league.
