Former India all-rounder Yuvraj Singh had fans in splits recently when he jokingly scolded a content creator who’s become popular online for his spot-on impressions of Rohit Sharma, India’s current ODI captain.
In a funny clip making the rounds on social media, Yuvraj Singh meets the lookalike and warns him, tongue firmly in cheek, that Rohit won’t take it lightly if he ever comes face-to-face with him.
“Sharma ji ke bete… jab woh tujhe dekhega na, itna marega na tujhe…“, Yuvraj said, as both posed for photos at the event.
The creator has built quite a name for himself by blending cricket banter with comedy, and his Rohit Sharma impressions have been winning hearts all over the country.
The lighthearted exchange took place on Monday during the “50 Days To Go” event for the ICC Women’s World Cup 2025, which will be held later this year in India.
Speaking at the event, Yuvraj Singh said, “Everyone expects India to win. We should support the women’s team as much as we support the men’s team. The World Cup is being held in India. I urge all fans to come and watch the matches and support our team. We want our girls to win.”
The event began with ICC Chairman Jay Shah inaugurating the celebrations, followed by panel discussions featuring current and former Indian cricket stars, along with ICC CEO Sanjog Gupta.
Cricket icons Mithali Raj, India captain Harmanpreet Kaur, Smriti Mandhana, and Jemimah Rodrigues also came together in Mumbai to mark the countdown to the tournament.
The upcoming 50-over World Cup will be the first senior ICC Women’s event in the sub-continent since 2016, when India hosted the ICC Women’s T20 World Cup. India has also previously hosted the Women’s World Cup in 1978, 1997, and 2013.
