ZIM vs IRE: Zimbabwe’s national cricket team has announced their squad for the one-off Test match against Ireland, which is scheduled to be played in Belfast from July 25-29. Craig Ervine has been named the captain of the team. Zimbabwe’s squad for ZIM vs IRe also features another senior player Sean Williams.
Both Ervine and Williams are the most experienced players in the Zimbabwe team, who have been serving the national cricket team for many years now.
Surprisingly, Zimbabwe dropped both the senior players from the T20I squad, which is currently in action against India as the team has given preference to youngsters this time.

Ervine has played 20 Tests while Williams has played 14 Tests so far.
Apart from these two veterans, Zimbabwe has backed youngsters like Clive Madande, Brian Bennett, and Johnathan Campbell for the upcoming series by giving them their maiden call-ups.
Talking about their experiences, while Brian Bennett and Johnathan Campbell have represented Zimbabwe only in the shortest format of the game, on the other hand, Clive Madande has played for Zimbabwe in ODIs and T20Is, however, he has yet to play Tests.
The upcoming Test series is going to be historic as this is the first time that both Zimbabwe and Ireland will take on each other in a Test match.
