The Quarter-finals stage of the 2021 French Open has begun and one of the Women’s Singles matches was played between India’s PV Sindhu and Thailand’s Busanan Ongbamrungphan on Friday, 29 October 2021.
The 2021 French Open is a Super 750 Level Tournament held at the Stade Pierre de Coubertin in Paris, France from the 26th to 31st October 2021.

PV Sindhu had won both the First Round & Second Round matches in two straight games against Denmark’s Julie Dawall Jakobsen and Denmark’s Line Christophersen respectively.
Meanwhile, Busanan Ongbamrungphan too had won both the First Round & Second Round matches in two straight games against Estonia’s Kristin Kuuba and Scotland’s Kirsty Gilmour respectively.
This Women’s Singles QF match was played on Court 3. Meanwhile, PV Sindhu is World No. 7 whereas Busanan Ongbamrungphan from Thailand is Ranked 13th in the world.
In the Head-to-Head Record, the Indian leads by 13-1. The last time they met was at the 2021 Denmark Open where PV Sindhu emerged as the winner.
At the 2021 French Open, Sindhu is the 3rd seed whereas Busanan is seeded 8th. In the QF encounter – PV Sindhu dominated the 1st Game as she won 21-14.
In the 2nd Game, the Thai player did fight well but India’s PV Sindhu from the mid-game interval had control of the game as she won by 21-14.
As a result, PV Sindhu won against Busanan Ongbamrungphan in two straight games 21-14, 21-14 in about thirty-eight minutes. Thus, the Indian star player PV Sindhu has advanced into the semi-finals where she will face Sayaka Takahashi from Japan.
