In a dynamic partnership, 2K Foundations and Hi 5 Youth Foundation are uniting forces to cultivate basketball in India, with a special focus on supporting underprivileged youth, particularly tribal girls, in completing higher education through the power of the game.
The collaboration recently unveiled a state-of-the-art outdoor basketball court at MPS CBSE Mithagar School in Mumbai. This facility is set to accommodate 150 children daily, fostering their basketball skills under Hi 5’s “Hope Thru Hoops” program.
Expressing their enthusiasm, Hi 5 Youth Foundation Founders, Radhakrishnan, and Usha Sundar stated, “We are delighted to partner with a global organization such as 2K Foundations and work together, through the game of basketball – we expect to inspire and support underprivileged youth (especially tribal girls) to complete higher education and access a brighter future.”

Head of Lifestyle and Content Marketing at 2K, Ronnie Singh, also known as Ronnie 2K, led the inauguration of the court. Singh remarked, “All of us at 2K couldn’t be more excited to partner with Hi 5 and see this court come to life. To be in India where basketball continues to grow is something 2K wants to continue to invest in.”
The event featured a ribbon-cutting ceremony, basketball drills, and a scrimmage involving students from MPS CBSE Mithagar School. The new court is envisioned as a symbol of collaboration, community, and the positive impact of sports on young lives, reflecting the shared commitment of 2K Foundations and Hi 5 to invest in the future of young people.
This Mumbai court marks the 36th project for 2K Foundations, with recent initiatives spanning Nigeria, Kenya, Japan, France, and Spain. Notably, the court’s design is a creative collaboration with Indian artist Sneha Chakraborty, who expressed, “I wanted to bring out the joy of basketball, the colorful chaos of the city. This mural is special for me as it has different elements of 2K, the children of the Hi 5 community, and the city of Mumbai coming together, which has been a surreal inspiration.”
