Cricket fans are always in for a good time; luckily, 2022 is no different. Most governing authorities have eased up on travel and social distancing restrictions, allowing more sports players to get back on the field. Cricket players have been eager to return to their routines and put on a show for their fans. And, of course, bookies are hard at work to cash in on this renewed energy.

Punters are now getting various bonuses to help them take advantage of the new cricket seasons. And if you are yet to jump on one, consider reading what fellow punters are up to, like in this Dafabet India review, so you, too, can get in on the wins. Let’s look at the 6 events that will close the second half of 2022 and why they are so important.

Test Cricket Games

Most cricket fans know about this form of cricket as it has been around since the 19th century. It follows a 5-day format where players get the chance to show how well they can persevere in the ultimate test. And teams must put their best foot forward because failure to do so can have them lose their Test status. If you’re wondering how many teams have the honor of Test status, the answer is 12. So, you can imagine the games to be quite fascinating as teams try to retain their spots and get higher rankings.

Who will be playing in 2022?

  1. On the men’s side, England will face South Africa in August and September in 3 tests:
  • Test 1 of 3 will be from the 17th to the 21st of August,
  • Test 2 of 3 will take place from the 25th to the 29th of August, and
  • Test 3 of 3 will be from the 8th to the 12th of September during the South Africa tour of England.

Given that the Basil D’Oliviera Trophy will be up for grabs, fans are correct in thinking that this will be a hotly contested series.

ODI Games

While test games take up to 5 days to complete, ODI is much easier on the players as it features one day and fifty overs. On average, the matches last around nine hours. All Test-approved teams also have a seat in ODI games. Additionally, 36 more teams join these teams to battle it out for the honor of ranking first in this series. These additional teams can only play for 4 years before the ICC decides if they get another run in the rankings. But past winners of major tournaments are exempt from this as they have special status. All the other teams can lose their ODI status if they do not perform as well as they should.

So, which teams will face each other in the subsequent ODI games?

  1. On the men’s side, England will be facing South Africa in 3 ODI games, which will take place as follows:
  • ODI 1 of 3 will be on the 19th of July,
  • ODI 2 of 3 will be on the 22nd of July, and
  • ODI 3 of 3 will be on the 24th of July.
  1. On the women’s side, England will also be facing South Africa in the last match of the 2022 Women’s ODI Series.
  • ODI 3 of 3 will take place on the 18th of July.

England had earlier faced India in a string of 3 games, also in July.

T20I Games

This new cricket format was introduced in 2005 as a domestic cricket game. However, its recent discovery has not dulled its fascinating aspects, which have propelled it to the international scene. It features 20 overs on each side and has at least 105 participating teams. Unlike the other cricket series mentioned above, teams don’t need to worry about losing their T201 status. But that does not mean that the teams do not work hard to rise in the rankings.

And you can expect to see some action when the following teams go at it:

  1. On the men’s side, England and South Africa will be facing each other for T20I games on:
  • T20 1 of 3 will be on the 27th of July,
  • T20 2 of 3 will be on the 28th of July, and
  • T20 3 of 3 will be on the 31st of July.
  1. On the women’s side, Ireland will be facing Pakistan in the 3rd match of the T20I series as follows:
  • T20 3 of 3 will be on the 19th of July.
  1. On the women’s side, Ireland will face Australia in the 4th match of the Ireland Women’s T20I Summer Tri-Series on the 21st of July.

England and India had previously faced off, with India winning by 50 and 49 runs in the first two games, respectively. England won the last game with 17 runs. Fans cannot wait to see how it holds up when it faces South Africa in the coming games.

The international cricket season, which started in May, is sure to keep cricket fans on their toes as they explore different wagers while watching the action-packed games. And if you would like to start placing bets, be sure to:

  • Choose reputable sites that pay out wagers,
  • Find the best offers on the market to hedge your risk,
  • Research cricket and the teams in play, and
  • Manage your bankroll to ensure you turn a profit.

Who knows who will end up at the top? But one thing is sure – predicting the winners and rooting for them will be fun!
