The sports of tennis will be held from July 27 to August 4 at the Paris Olympics 2024. While several players will be sweating it out for the Olympic glory, many will miss the games due to injury.

Jannik Sinner (Italy)
Jack Sinner is the most high-profile player to withdraw from the Paris Olympics 2024 citing tonsillitis as the problem. The World No. 1 started feeling ill after a practice week in Monaco.
“I am saddened to inform you that unfortunately I will not be able to participate in the Paris Olympic Games. After a good week of clay training I started to feel unwell. I spent a couple of days resting and during a visit the doctor found tonsillitis and strongly advised me against playing. Missing the Games is a huge disappointment as it was one of my main goals for this season. I couldn’t wait to have the honor of representing my country in this very important event. Good luck to all the Italian athletes who I will support from home”, Sinner posted on X.
Hubert Hurkacz (Poland)
27-year-old Hubert Hurkacz withdrew from the Paris Games due to an injury that he sustained at the 2024 Wimbledon. The World No. 7 retired from his second-round match against Arthur Fils at Wimbledon owing to a knee injury, and has not recovered yet to be able to feature in the Paris Games.

Ben Shelton (USA)
Ben Shelton has chosen to stay away from Olympics citing tight schedule. The 21-year-old wants to focus on the North American leg and hard court events on the ATP Tour Instead.
The World No. 14 made a fourth round debut at the 2024 Wimbledon proving to be a rising star in tennis. The Paris Games would have been his first Olympics, had the American decided to represent his country.
Holger Rune (Denmark)
Holger Rune withdrew from the Paris 2024 Olympics due to a wrist injury. Having played with wrist pain throughout both the clay and grass seasons, the 21-year-old wants to take the medical recommendations seriously.
The World No. 16 was set to make his Olympic debut with Paris 2024 but he could not recover on time for the marquee event.

Alejandro Davidovich Fokina (Spain)
Alejandro Davidovich Fokina had to pull out of the Paris Olympics 2024 owing to an injury. The Spainiard was ruled out because of a back injury that led him to miss the 2024 Wimbledon. The 25-year-old represented Spain in the 2020 Tokyo Olympics, finishing ninth in singles and 17th in doubles.
