Arsene Wenger slammed PSG players for letting their emotions take over in a “stupid way” during their first-leg defeat by Manchester City in the Champions League semi-finals. The match started with both teams playing a high line. PSG were clearly dominant in the first half and got their reward as Marquinhos scored a header and took the team in-front.

Manchester City came out as a totally different team in the second half. They were not losing the ball. They played the Tiki-Taka well and created a lot of chances. They didn’t allow Parisians to leave their own half. They kept on attacking and in the 63rd minute Kevin De Bruyne from the 25-yard mark provided a lofted pass to the players in the box but the ball accidently bounced in no man region and went inside the net. An accidental goal but a much deserved one.

Another accidental goal took place when Mahrez took a free kick and the ball went through the wall into back of the net. All of a sudden City were ahead in the away leg. This free kick angered The former Arsenal boss who said: “From the defenders turning their back, it’s between Paredes and Kimpembe. I personally believe that the second goal is not acceptable for that level. It’s not the first time you see players turning their back. City took advantage of that.”

Wenger further added- “In the second half, Paris Saint-Germain were protective, not progressive any more. Is it because they were not physically capable? They did not have the same availability. After 1-1 they collapsed completely. They became emotional and aggressive in a stupid way.”

Paris Saint Germain would clearly be under a lot of pressure as City goes home with 2 away goals and it wont be easy for Parisians to beat City at their home.
