Tiny Cars Steal The Show At Paris Olympics 2024

The miniature cars, officially known as Field Support Robots, are used to retrieve objects used in the events like the discus, javelin, shot put, hammer etc.

Once the object is thrown by an athlete, an Olympic staffer on duty in the field grabs the equipment and loads it up to the tiny car which then drops it off to the designated spot back where the athletes throw from.

The technology helps in cutting down the number of staff needed in the outfield and saves the time spent in retrieving the object. The robot cars help in smooth conduct of the events.

The Paris Games used the Toyota BZ4X model, a fully electric vehicle, aligning with the Games concern on environment and sustainability.
