The NBA returns for its 79th season starting October 2024. The NBA season consists of a regular season, playoffs, and an in-season tournament.
All 30 teams in the 2024-25 NBA season have at least one potential All-Star player, making the competition more interesting. Here are some of the players to watch out for this season.
LeBron James, Los Angeles Lakers
LeBron James won his third Olympic gold medal at Paris Games 2024. Last season he averaged 25.7 points, 8.3 assists and 7.3 rebounds for Los Angeles Lakers. James, who turns 40 on 30 December, will script history when he competes alongside his son Bronny James in the 2024-25 NBA season season to become the first father and son to play together for the same team in a regular season game in the NBA.
Victor Wembanyama, San Antonio Spurs
Victor Wembanyama was named Rookie of the Year in the last season of the NBA. He led France in points (15.8), rebounds (9.7), assists (3.3), steals (2.0) and blocks (1.7) on their way to win the silver medal at the Paris Olympics 2024. The 20-year-old is the hot-favorite among the NBA GMs as majority of them named Wembanyama as the player they would want to sign if they were starting a franchise today. He is one of the top players to watch out for at 2024-25 NBA season.

Luka Doncic, Dallas Mavericks
Luka Doncic made it to the NBA Finals for the first time in his career last season, registering staggering figures of 29.2 points, 8.8 rebounds and 5.6 assists as the Mavericks fell to the Celtics in five games.
The Solvenian is now a staple in the First Team All-NBA selection and an MVP favorite for the 2024-25 NBA season.
Nikola Jokic, Denver Nuggets
Nikola Jokic earned his third NBA MVP award last season. At Paris 2024, Jokic led Serbia to the bronze medal with exceptional rebounding and scoring abilities.
Although Denver failed to make it to the Final in the last edition, the 29-year-old would be an exciting player to watch out for in the 2024-25 NBA season.
