Let’s dive into this story and find out about the other four matches where Team India won by the biggest margins

2. IND vs WI, 2018 – India won by an innings and 272 runs.

India’s record for the largest Test victory (in terms of runs/innings) came against the West Indies in 2018 under the leadership of Virat Kohli. Team India batters showcased pure dominance over the Caribbean bowlers in Rajkot as they won the match by a massive margin of an innings and 272 runs. This record now ranks second on the list of largest victories in terms of runs and innings, following a spectacular performance by the Indian Test team  in the Mullanpur Test

3. IND vs AFG, 2018 – India won by an innings and 262 runs

Ahead of the one-off Test in New Chandigarh, Team India has previously showcased a similar show against Afghanistan in 2018. Back in 2018, when the Afghan team arrived in Bengaluru for their historic debut Test match under the leadership of Asgar Afghan, the Men in Blue gave them no chance to settle in as India won that match at the M. Chinnaswamy Stadium within just two days by a huge margin of an innings and 262 runs.

4. BAN vs IND, 2007 – India won by an innings and 239 runs

Under the leadership of Rahul Dravid, the Indian Test team registered their fourth-largest Test win against Bangladesh at the Sher-e-Bangla Stadium in Mirpur in 2007. The Men in Blue delivered a commanding performance across all departments of the game as they defeated the hosts on their home soil by a huge margin of an innings and 239 runs.

5. IND vs SL, 2017, India won by an innings and 239 runs

India defeated Sri Lanka by the same margin (an innings and 239 runs) in 2017 under the leadership of Virat Kohli in Nagpur. India pushed the Sri Lankan team firmly onto the back foot, thanks to Virat Kohli’s double century and a collective effort by the bowlers. This victory also stands as India’s joint-fifth largest Test win in terms of runs.
