The SunRisers Hyderabad (SRH) had an eventful first day at the IPL 2025 auction held in Jeddah, Saudi Arabia, on Sunday, November 24. With a starting budget of ₹45 crore, the team was active in securing top players to strengthen their squad for the upcoming season.

Star Signing: Ishan Kishan

The highlight of SRH’s auction was acquiring Indian wicketkeeper-batter Ishan Kishan for a whopping ₹11.25 crore. His addition brings significant power to their batting lineup.

Strengthening the Bowling Attack

SRH bolstered their bowling unit by signing experienced pacer Mohammed Shami for ₹10 crore and former CSK bowler Simarjeet Singh for ₹1.5 crore. They also welcomed two leg-spinners—Adam Zampa from Australia and India’s Rahul Chahar, adding versatility to their spin attack.

Boost in All-Round Capabilities

In the all-rounder category, Hyderabad made a key addition by signing Harshal Patel for ₹8 crore. Harshal, a two-time Purple Cap winner, is expected to bring valuable experience and balance to the team.

SRH didn’t overlook promising Indian talent. They signed batters Abhinav Manohar for for₹3.2 crore and Atharva Taide for for₹30 lakh, both of whom could impact the coming season.

By the end of Day 1, SRH had spent₹39.85 crore, leaving them with₹5.15 crore for Day 2 of the auction.
