Mohammed Siraj will play for the Gujarat Titans in the 2025 Indian Premier League (IPL) season. The Indian fast bowler was bought for Rs 12.25 crore after his old team, Royal Challengers Bangalore (RCB), chose not to use their Right To Match card.

Gujarat Titans Secure Mohammed Siraj After Intense Bidding War
Gujarat Titans were the most determined bidder for Siraj, with Rajasthan Royals and Chennai Super Kings also interested. GT and CSK went back and forth in bidding, pushing Siraj’s price up to Rs 8 crore before Chennai dropped out. The Royals then joined in, competing with the Titans until the IPL 2022 champions finally won Siraj for Rs 12.25 crore.

The Gujarat Titans will be Siraj’s third IPL team since he started with SRH in 2017.
The IPL 2025 Mega Auction: Biggest Deals and Surprises
In the second round of bidding, Punjab Kings bought leg-spinner Yuzvendra Chahal for an impressive Rs 18 crore, while Delhi Capitals picked up former LSG captain KL Rahul for Rs 14 crore, which was seen as a good deal.
Chahal, who was dropped from the Indian team despite not playing in their winning T20 World Cup campaign, was let go by Rajasthan Royals before the mega auction. However, his high price shows he is still in demand in the IPL.
India pacer Mohammed Shami, who recently returned from injury, was bought by SunRisers Hyderabad for Rs 10 crore.
Among other deals, Punjab Kings used their RTM to buy back left-arm seamer Arshdeep Singh for Rs 18 crore, while Gujarat Titans bought South African fast bowler Kagiso Rabada, whom Punjab Kings released, for Rs 10.75 crore.
Rishabh Pant became the most expensive player in IPL history, with Lucknow Super Giants winning the bid for Rs 27 crore, surpassing Shreyas Iyer’s previous record.
