The World Squash Team Championships 2024 will be held in Hong Kong, China for the first time in its 57-year history.
The events will take place from 9-15 December at the Hong Kong Football Club. Also for the first time, the men’s and women’s events will be held concurrently in the same venue in a major step towards gender parity.
The World Squash Team Championships 2024 will witness 195 players representing 29 nations. The field is split between 26 men’s and 23 women’s teams. Each team consists of three players and a reserve.
Under the format, there will be six pools for women and eight pools for men. After the pool stage, it becomes a multi-match draw format whereby all teams continue to play to decide their final finishing position.
The event will be headlined by top squash players like Egyptian World No. 1 Ali Farag and Nour El Sherbini. Reigning world champions Diego Elias of Peru and Egyptian Nouran Gohar are also in the fray.
The World Squash Team Championships 2024 will serve as an opportunity for the players to gear up for the big Olympic glory. Notably, Squash is set to make its Olympic debut at LA 2028.
