T20 World Cup: From the June 12th ICC Women’s T20 World Cup is going to start. The first ever T20 world cup was played in 2009 where the host England won their first ever T20 world cup title. Since then England have not won even a single trophy. Meanwhile, unlike the men’s team, Australia women’s team has shown dominance in the T20 World Cup. The New Zealand Women’s team won their first ever T20 World cup title back in 2024, The player of the tournament was none other than Amelia Kerr. She took 15 wickets and made history. She broke the record of England’s Anya Shrubsole which was 13 wickets and became the highest wicket-taker in a single edition.

Oldest Captain to win T20 World Cup

The New Zealand women’s team lead by Sophie Devine has won their maiden T20 world Cup trophy, Also, Devine became the oldest player as a captain to win the trophy. She was 35 at that moment and winning the trophy at this age she set a record.

Highest Individual Score

Back in 2014 Mag Lanning scored the tournament’s top score. It’s been twelve years and she is still the highest individual scorer.  Mag Lanning made 126 runs of just 65 balls with the help of 14 boundaries and 4 sixes and that is the highest ever Individual score by a player in the tournament. 

Most time appeared in T20 World Cup

Ellyse Perry is the only cricketer who has appeared most times in the Women’s T20 World Cup. She has participated a record 47 times, Five more than A suzie beats. Even though it seems like she will continue to play and increase her record further. She is one of the finest cricketers in the history of the Australian Women’s team.

Most Runs in Tournament

Since the tournament started Suzie Beats started playing for the New Zealand T20 World Cup. And from every T20 world Cup she has participated across 42 matches where she has scored more than 1216 runs. Beats has been one of the most successful cricketer in women’s T20 team.
