Carlos Corberan has been appointed as the head coach of Spanish football club Valencia, succeeding Ruben Baraja, who was sacked.
According to reports, Valencia paid West Brom around £3 million for a two year contract. This comes as he leaves West Bromwich Albion.
“Carlos Corberan becomes the new Valencia CF coach until 2027,” Valencia said in a statement on Tuesday.
“The club has informed West Bromwich Albion FC of the execution of the exit option stipulated in his contract to leave the English club.”
Following confirmation of his appointment by Valencia, Corberan said on social media that the decision to leave Albion had been “the hardest of my life”.
“There will always be a place in my heart for this special club and I hope one day I can return to thank you all for your incredible support,” he said.
Carlos Corberan was appointed by the Baggies in October 2022, leading them to a ninth-placed finish in his first season and fifth last term, as they lost to Southampton in the play-off semi-finals.
Valencia is currently struggling in LaLiga, sitting 19th with only two wins this season.
Corberan joined West Brom from Huddersfield Town in October 2022. At Huddersfield, he led the team to third place in the Championship during the 2021-22 season.

Under his leadership, West Brom finished ninth in the second tier in 2022-23 and fifth the following year before being eliminated in the play-off semi-finals. Currently, they are seventh.
During his time at West Brom, he achieved a win rate of 43.93%, securing victory in 47 out of 107 matches across all competitions.
He has guided Albion to seventh place in the Championship table this season, just outside the play-off places on goals scored, despite claiming his playing budget had been reduced by 30%.
Carlos Corberan had been linked with the recent managerial vacancy at Premier League side Southampton, but Saints chose Ivan Juric to replace the sacked Russell Martin.
Valencia, Corberan’s hometown club, are four points from safety, sitting second-bottom of La Liga.
In Baraja’s final game as manager, they drew 2-2 with Alaves on Sunday to move off the bottom of the table on goal difference.
They face reigning champions Real Madrid in their next league game on 3 January.
