Sania Mirza’s Warning to Title Contenders

Novak Djokovic is currently ranked World No. 7 and aims to win a record 25th Grand Slam title. He has won 99 singles titles in total, including 72 major titles, 24 Grand Slams, a record 40 Masters, seven year-end championships, and an Olympic gold. It’s probably the last two couple of years that we’re going to watch him play. I think to be very honest, on the contrary, it’s going to be a problem for the title contenders,” Sania Mirza said.

Nobody wants to see Novak in the quarterfinal. They would rather play him in the final. So, I think he’s going in with a great situation where the pressure is off to him right now,” Sania Mirza added.

What’s Next for Djokovic at the 2025 Australian Open?

The 37-year-old is also the only player in singles to have won all of the major titles and has completed a Career Super Slam. Three years ago, he was detained upon arriving in Melbourne for the Grand Slam because he didn’t meet the vaccination requirements to enter the country. In 2022, Djokovic spent time in a quarantine hotel and was eventually deported. Since then, he has gone on to win the Australian Open.
