There is turmoil in Kolkata Knight Riders as they had to cancel two matches because of their two players testing positive for COVID-19. The announcement was made by the team earlier in the day along with the announcement that today’s game against RCB has been canceled by BCCI.

The situation was turbulent enough that the franchise’s CEO had to address the press. In a press release released by KKR signed by CEO Venky Mysore, the franchise has informed that Varun and Sandeep are isolating on a different floor since been testing positive and have been in touch with doctors. Sandeep is completely asymptomatic but Varun has minor symptoms.

The team including the owner Shahrukh Khan has been checking on each other and everyone is in quarantine till May 8, their next match. A protocol of daily testing has been initiated at the camp and other players have tested negative.

The team believes that if everything else goes according to plan they will be able to join the Premier League back on May 8.
