Former Belgian footballer Hugo Broos has been chosen to lead the African side as a head coach in Qatar’s 2022 Football World Cup.

With more than 50 years of experience as both a footballer and a coach, Broos has signed a 5-year contract with the African Football Association.

Broos has trained Cameroon to the African Cup of Nations title in 2017 and was also a part of the 1986 Belgium side that made it to the World-cup semis.

Broos has a fair amount of coaching experience coached for Qatar, Algeria, Turkey, Greece, and Cameroon.

It would be interesting to see how the African side performs under him after previous head coach Molefi Ntseki was terminated a month ago after South Africa failed to perform at the Cup of Nations in Cameroon earlier this year.
