IND vs NZ: In the finals of Champions Trophy 2025 taking place at Dubai International Stadium, mighty New Zealand chose to bowl first after winning the toss where Rohit Sharma lost his 12th toss in a row and India lost its 15th on 9th March 2025. On a sunny day with a dry pitch suitable for spinner, Kiwis wanted to bat first and put up a good total for the thrilling encounter with team India.
NZ Batting woes

Rachin Ravindra and Will Young opened for New Zealand where Rachin portrayed his strong character in front of one of the most powerful teams in the world of cricket, India. Rachin managed to get the scoreboard running and NZ had 45 runs on board within 6 overs. Varun came into play and took the 1st wicket of Will Young.
Then soon as Kuldeep Yadav came into play he dismissed dangerous Rachin and Williamson early on, Jadeja followed and took one as well. The running scoreboard got stuck and NZ was in trouble with short runs according to the pitch and the mammoth batting order of team India.
Shreyas Iyer fielding show

Shreyas Iyer has performed exceptionally well throughout the Champions Trophy 2025, he has been in talks due to his incident against Australia as well where he stopped the ball on short covers and took a round at his place while finding it. Virat Kohli mocked him too by imitating his fielding mishap.
Along with that in the finals, it was evident that Shreyas saved a boundary with his smart judgment of the ball and solid throw always cutting singles and doubles with his outstanding fitness. During the over of Varun, Rachin played a slog sweep over mid-wicket where Shreyas was standing at the deep and took a long stride to reach the ball but unfortunately, the ball didn’t stick to his handstand the catch was dropped.
He is an asset to the team though always has been and will surely save dozens of runs with his best efforts for the team in the finals.
