The wait is almost over! Season 3 of MAL MY – Malaysia’s developmental league for Mobile Legends: Bang Bang (MLBB) – is all set to kick off with a fresh format, new teams, and a special spotlight on female players. Organized by MOONTON Games and IO Esports, this tournament is where rising MLBB stars get a real shot at making it big.
The event is proudly presented by Realme, with strong support from Rexagon, the Ministry of Youth and Sports (KBS), Rakan Muda, Esports Integrated (ESI), and the Malaysia Esports Federation (MESF).
Big News: More Female Players This MAL MY Season
This season is making history by welcoming 15 female players into the league, including an all-female team – the Johor Angels. They’ve already earned a direct invite and are ready to show what they can do. This is a big step forward for gender diversity in esports, and it’s exciting to see more women getting the spotlight.
How the Format Works
Season 3 is divided into two main conferences:
- Challenger Conference
Includes the top four teams from Season 2 and two new teams from the Open Qualifiers.
- Affiliated Conference
Features six junior teams from MPL Malaysia Season 15.
Stage 1: Regular Season (April – May 6)
- All teams will play a round-robin format with Best-of-3 (Bo3) matches within their own conference.
- Top teams from each group move to the next stage.
Stage 2: Cross-Conference Battles (May 12 – 22)
- Now it gets serious. Teams from both conferences will face off in another Bo3 round-robin.
- The top 6 from the Challenger Conference and top 4 from the Affiliated Conference will move to the Playoffs.
Playoffs: Final Showdown (June 26 – 29)
- This is where the best teams fight for the championship and a chance to qualify for MPL Malaysia Season 16, the country’s top MLBB league.
Here’s how promotion works:
- The winner of the semi-final match between the top two Challenger teams goes straight to Season 16.
- The loser gets one more chance, facing the 9th-placed MPL team from last season for a final shot at promotion.
