The ITTF World Table Tennis Championships Finals 2025 will get underway in Doha, Qatar on May 17-28.
This is the 58th edition of the biennial tournament that will feature some of the world’s best table tennis players in action.
The tournament begins from the round of 128 in singles and the round of 64 in each of the doubles competitions.
India has fielded a strong contingent of 11 members to the big event that will be held at the Lusail Sports Arena.
Manika Batra will be the flagbearer of the Indian squad that also includes Sreeja Akula, Sathiyan Gnanasekaran, Sutirtha and Ayhika Mukherjee, amongst others.
India will field four players in each of the two singles events.
Sreeja Akula, at world No. 34, is the top-ranked Indian singles player in the fray. World No. 46 Batra along with emerging talents Yashaswini Ghorpade and Diya Chitale will join her in the women’s singles draw.
Meanwhile, world No. 49 Manav Thakkar is the top-ranked Indian in the men’s singles category. Manush Shah, G Sathiyan and Ankur Bhattacharjee will also take aim in Doha.
Manav Thakkar and Manush Shah, who are seeded eighth, will team up for men’s doubles. Diya Chitale and Manush Shah, meanwhile, are the ninth seeds in mixed doubles.
