The Strasbourg Open, officially known as Internationaux de Strasbourg, is underway where some of the top women’s tennis players are battling out.
This is the 39th edition of the tournament and part of the WTA 500 tournaments of the 2025 WTA Tour.
The Strasbourg Open kicked-off on May 18 and the final is slated for May 24. 2025. The actions are taking place on the clay-courts at Tennis Club de Strasbourg.

Strasbourg Open 2025: Storylines to look for
- In singles, Madison Keys was the reigning champion, but did not participate this year. Cristina Bucșa and Monica Niculescu were the reigning champions in doubles, but Niculescu did not participate this year. Bucșa partners Xu Yifan.
- Two-time champion Elina Svitolina (2020, 2023) was initially scheduled to play the event, but she withdrew from the main draw due to a lower back injury. The Ukrainian has gone 12-2 at WTA events on clay in 2025.
- World No. 4 Jessica Pegula, who made history by winning the Italian Open title in the past weekend, received a main-draw wild card and enters as top seed at the event. She is seeking her first win at Strasbourg, having lost in the first round in 2019 and 2021. The odds are in her favour as she has won 28 WTA main-draw matches this year, second-most on tour (trailing only Aryna Sabalenka’s 34).
- 2021 US Open winner Emma Raducanu is making her debut at Strasbourg.
- 2022 Wimbledon titlist Elena Rybakina, Barbora Krejcikova and Sofia Kenin will bring the total of Grand Slam singles champions in the field up to four.
- Krejcikova will be contesting her first match of the year. Reigning Wimbledon champion off has been out of injury since her semifinal showing at the 2024 WTA Finals Riyadh.
