The Australian Swimming Trials will open doors for the World Aquatics Championships as swimmers gear up to battle for the precious spot.
More than 50 spots at the 2025 Worlds to be held in Singapore are up for grabs among Australian swimmers.
The selection event will take place at the SA Aquatic and Leisure Centre pool in Oaklands Park, South Australia from 9-14 June.
As swimmers battle out to make the cut, here are the top stars to keep an eye on at Australian Swimming Trials.
Australian Swimming Trials 2025: Top stars to watch
Kaylee McKeown
Kaylee McKeown headlines the field at the event and will be having a busy schedule. The five-time Olympic champion is entered in four events: the 50m, 100m and 200m backstroke, as well as the 50m freestyle. Notably, the 23-year-old has opted out of the 200m individual medley in which she won an Olympic bronze.
Mollie O’Callaghan
Mollie O’Callaghan will be swimming in five events at the meet: the 50m, 100m and 200m freestyle, as well as the 50m and 100m backstroke. She is the reigning Olympic champion in the 200m free and a finalist in the 100m free.
Isaac Cooper
Isaac Cooper, who earlier announced that he would take an extended break from the sport in 2025, is entered to swim the 50m freestyle, 50m backstroke and 50m butterfly at the Australian Swimming Trials. It would be interesting to see how he fares at the sprint races- all of which will debut at the LA 2028 Olympics.
Cameron McEvoy
Cameron McEvoy enters the competition as the reigning Olympic champion in the 50m free. He also won a bronze in the 50m fly at the 2024 World Aquatics Championships in Doha, which marked the first time he was swimming a discipline other than freestyle at an international competition.
McEvoy will be eager to show an improved performance in the 50m butterfly in Singapore.
