Krunal Pandya, India all-rounded, got speechless as he walked up to speak to the media after hitting a brilliant 58 off 31 balls, becoming the fastest debutant to score a half-century on Tuesday. Pandya helped India to post a competitive total of 317 against England in the ODI series opener at the Maharashtra Cricket Association Stadium in Pune.

The ODI record-breaker dedicated his win to his father, who died due to cardiac arrest in January 2021.

“This one is for my dad. I did get emotional,” he said even as he tried to not let the tears out. Krunal was not able to complete the mid-innings interview as he was not able to hold back his tears and signaled to the cameras to be off.

As he was walking towards the dressing room, it could be seen, that his brother Hardik Pandya embraced him in a warm and emotional hug after which Krunal couldn’t stop his tears.

As it is noted, the Pandya brothers were playing together for the first time since their father passed away.
