AEW is gearing up for another major pay-per-view with WrestleDream 2025, set to take place on Saturday, October 18, 2025, at the Chaifetz Arena in St. Louis, Missouri. The event promises a stacked card featuring some of AEW’s biggest names, including Hangman Page, Samoa Joe, Darby Allin, Jon Moxley, and ‘Timeless’ Toni Storm.
With AEW’s history of delivering surprises at its big shows, fans are already speculating about potential new signings or shocking returns. Two years ago, Tony Khan made headlines by debuting Adam Copeland (formerly Edge in WWE) at WrestleDream 2023, creating one of the most talked-about moments in AEW history.
This year could bring similar excitement. Let’s look at five stars who might make their AEW debut at WrestleDream 2025.
5 & 4: Karrion Kross and Scarlett
The real-life duo Karrion Kross and Scarlett have been the talk of the wrestling community in recent months. After leaving WWE earlier this year, they’ve been active on the independent scene, building strong momentum once again.
Despite his intense charisma and dominant look, WWE never truly gave Kross the push fans believed he deserved. His recent exit after losing to Sami Zayn at SummerSlam 2025 has left the door open for AEW to make a move.
Bringing Kross and Scarlett to AEW would be a perfect fit. Their dark, mysterious presentation and chemistry could easily stand out on AEW television. Kross’s in-ring storytelling combined with Scarlett’s presence could give AEW’s roster a fresh and unique duo ready for big feuds.
3: Santos Escobar
Santos Escobar is another name that could shine in AEW. Known for his incredible technical ability and smooth charisma, Escobar was once seen as a future star in WWE. From his time leading Legado Del Fantasma to his matches alongside Rey Mysterio, he proved himself as one of Mexico’s top exports.
However, his WWE run ended after creative stagnation and lack of direction. Reports suggest that Escobar chose not to renew his WWE contract, seeking better opportunities elsewhere.
With AEW forming partnerships with Mexican promotions like CMLL, signing Escobar would make perfect sense. His high-flying style and natural leadership could make him a centerpiece in AEW’s growing international presence. A debut at WrestleDream 2025 could be the perfect start for his new chapter.
2 & 1: Dakota Kai and Tegan Nox
The women’s division could also see some major changes. Dakota Kai and Tegan Nox, two former WWE superstars, have both shown that they can deliver top-tier performances in the ring.
Back in 2019, the duo started as a promising tag team in NXT, before their shocking fallout when Kai betrayed Nox at NXT TakeOver: WarGames. Their chemistry as both partners and rivals made them fan favorites in the women’s division.
Unfortunately, both were released by WWE Kai in 2025 and Nox a year earlier leaving many fans disappointed. Now, with Tony Khan recently announcing the AEW Women’s Tag Team Championships, this could be the perfect opportunity for the pair to make a fresh start.
Kai and Nox could instantly add depth to AEW’s women’s division, bringing star power, story potential, and tag team experience. Their reunion could also help establish the new titles as a serious and competitive part of AEW’s women’s scene.
