In a Pro Kabaddi League Season 12 match at the Thyagaraj Indoor Stadium in Delhi between UP Yoddhas and Tamil Thalaivas, the Yoddhas rose to the occasion making a remarkable comeback to win by 32-31.

A pair of match-leading raids from Guman Singh (8 points) and Gagan Gowda (6 points), together with Hitesh’s High Five in defence, lifted UP Yoddhas to their second consecutive win and a spot in the top eight of the standings.

First Half: Tamil Thalaivas Strike Early After Balanced Start

The game started with both sides being cautious, and early empty raids from Guman Singh and Moein Shafaghi as both sets of defences were strong. The breakthrough was produced by Gagan Gowda, who scored in a Do-or-Die raid, providing UP with early momentum.

Tamil Thalaivas, captained by Arjun Deshwal, slowly gained traction. His raiding, especially on the Yoddhas’ corners, was awarding regular points. Along with Sagar Rathee’s High Five in defence, Tamil Thalaivas caused the first ALL OUT and got an upper hand that was temporary.

Despite this, UP Yoddhas held firm. Gagan and Bhavani Rajput picked up important points, while defenders Mahender Singh and Hitesh kept Thalaivas from increasing their lead. Tamil Thalaivas were ahead 17-14 at halftime, but the match remained finely poised.

Second Half: Yoddhas’ Defense and Guman Singh Shine in Comeback

The second half started slow, Thalaivas attempting to keep up with the pace. But Hitesh’s defensive wizardry changed everything. He delivered back-to-back tackles on Aashish and Moein Shafaghi, giving Thalaivas no genuine momentum.

The Yoddhas’ comeback from there was spearheaded by Guman Singh, who finally found his groove at the right moment. His multi-point raids, including a very crucial double raid that eliminated Ronak and Narender Kandola, gave UP the momentum they were looking for.

Though Narender and Deshwal tried to draw things in Tamil’s favor with crucial raids, the UP defense was solid. Guman sealed the win with crucial points at the end as Tamil Thalaivas’ desperate last attempts were not enough.
