Hampshire have signed Australian allrounder Amanda-Jade Wellington for the 2026 season. The 28-year-old will bring an extensive cricketing pedigree and a wealth of experience within UK domestic competitions, following a very successful summer stint with Somerset.

In the UK Cricket, the talented combined leg-spinning and all-round ability of Sophie Wellington has seen her perform well, particularly during The Hundred (Women’s) events. Wellington has played five (5) seasons with Southern Brave and has become the second highest wicket taker in the Women’s Hundred competition’s history to date.

Southern Brave and the Utilita Bowl are both special places for Sophie Wellington, and she is thrilled about returning there (the Utilita Bowl) again in 2026 playing for Hampshire.

In 2025, Wellington had a memorable season in the first ever Women’s Tier 1 competition with Somerset, and her talents as both batter and bowler make her a vital inclusion in Hampshire’s squad for the season ahead.

Amanda-Jade Wellington’s National Career and Role at Hampshire While Amanda-Jade Wellington has represented Australia 23 times across all formats, her international appearances have been limited since 2022.

Amanda-Jade Wellington played 23 games for Australia Internationally (ODI, Test, and T20) but very few games internationally since 2020, and she continues to play for Australia.
