Venus Williams has entered a new chapter of her life, marrying Italian actor and model Andrea Preti in a pair of intimate wedding celebrations held in Italy and the United States. The seven-time Grand Slam singles champion confirmed the news this week, marking a joyful milestone both personally and professionally.

Venus Williams-Andrea Preti Wedding Saga

Williams, 45, and Preti first exchanged vows in a private ceremony on September 18 in Ischia, Italy, an island off the coast of Naples where Preti has deep roots. The Italian celebration reflected the couple’s long-held dream of marrying abroad, but legal requirements ultimately led them to host a second ceremony stateside. That courthouse wedding took place on December 19 in Palm Beach, Florida, concluding a five-day celebration with close family and friends.

Speaking to Vogue, the tennis icon described the Florida ceremony as serene and deeply meaningful. The couple chose an early-morning time-6:45 a.m.-so they could have the courthouse entirely to themselves. “I can’t describe how beautiful, calm, sacred, exciting, and exalting it was,” Williams said, calling the experience a dream. Preti echoed her sentiment, describing the courthouse wedding as “very unique, emotional, and deep,” adding that while it ranked as the second-best day of his life, their Italian wedding remained his favorite.

The celebrations were filled with personal touches, many orchestrated by Venus’ younger sister, Serena Williams. Serena gifted the couple a yacht outing and shared a heartfelt tribute on social media, reflecting on their journey from backyard tennis courts to global stardom. “From backyard courts to the world stage, you’ve always led with grace, strength, and heart,” Serena wrote. “Seeing you step into this next chapter so loved and radiant means everything to me.”

Beyond the wedding festivities, Venus Williams continues to defy expectations on the tennis court. Earlier this year, she became the second-oldest woman to win a tour-level singles match, returning to competition after a 16-month absence. She plans to begin her 33rd consecutive season on the WTA Tour in January in Auckland and has set her sights on the 2028 Los Angeles Olympics. Williams already boasts an impressive Olympic résumé, with four gold medals and one silver across five appearances.

Williams and Preti were first romantically linked in July 2024 after being spotted together on the Amalfi Coast. They met earlier that year during Milan Fashion Week and later spent time together in London before Williams introduced Preti to her family.
