Annabel Sutherland Creates History with Record Century
The highlight of the India women vs Australia Women Test was a magnificent knock by Annabel Sutherland, who scored 129 runs, propelling Australia to a strong position with a great score.
Sutherland, who is just 24 years old, also achieved many milestones with this innings:
- Her fourth Test century, an Australian record in women’s Tests
- She achieved this feat in just her seventh Test match
Her third successive Test hundred, a feat never before achieved by any woman in Test cricket
Only one woman, the legendary Jan Brittin of England, who scored five centuries in women’s Tests, has more centuries than Annabel Sutherland.
Ellyse Perry Breaks Australia’s Test Record
Another major milestone in the India Women vs Australia Women match came when Australian star Ellyse Perry scored. She scored a valuable 76 runs, helping Australia gain strength. During her innings, she also became Australia’s highest scorer in women’s Test cricket, breaking the previous record of 1,002 runs by Karen Rolton. She now has scored 1,006 Test runs for Australia.
Sutherland and Perry Partnership Turns the Match
