Andrew Tate is one of the most recognizable names in the world over the past few years. The controversial social media star has split public opinion about him with some rather bold takes. Despite this, he remains relevant.

Over the past few years, the internet has seen and heard a lot from Tate. Moreover, he also spent considerable time in jail after being arrested in Romania for alleged sexual trafficking.  But before all the limelight, he was a completely different person.

For those unaware, Tate wasn’t always planning to be on social media. In fact, he is a former professional kickboxer and was even a world champion at one point. However, he had to quit his fighting career because of suffering from constant injuries. As a result, he began looking for additional income and decided to launch an online webcam service.

While we have kind of seen his journey on social, Andrew Tate’s former sponsor, who saw him in his early days, has given some interesting insight.

Andrew Tate’s former sponsor reveals his drive to get rich

When Tate was rising up the ranks of kickboxing, he was spotted by the owner of Sidekick Boxing back in 2012. Surprisingly, the now turned multi-millionaire wasn’t in the best financial condition and did his first sponsored video for just 50 pounds.

The same was also his driving factor to become rich. Despite being a world champion, he was aware that kickboxing wasn’t going to make him rich. While recalling the time and suggesting this is how he got into the online webcam service business, Daniel Knight said:

“I first knew of Tate when he beat Jamie Bates, who we also sponsored. So when he popped up on Facebook, I had to get in touch. He was so easy to work with. He was like, ‘Just send me a pair of gloves and £50 and I will do you a video. When Andrew Tate became a world champion in kickboxing, he knew it wouldn’t make him rich. He was doing anything not to do a 9-5. This is where the webcam started.”

That said, it is safe to say that Andrew Tate was willing to do anything it takes to get rich. While he did manage to achieve that, he certainly attracted a lot of problems along the way too.
