It is some of the good days for the spearhead Jasprit Bumrah playing test in England soil. As the first test of the India tour of England is happening in Nottingham, where Jasprit Bumrah picked up 4/46 in the England first innings. As his contribution with the ball was one of the major factors in restricting a host to a first-innings total of 183. The thing which was more interesting and surprising was his valuable contribution to the bat. His individual knock of 28 runs pushed India’s lead to 95 runs in the first innings.
Jasprit Bumrah was impressed with his batting skills in his innings including the god of cricket Sachin Tendulkar. The legendary batsman Sachin Tendulkar was happy to see India in a good position in the context of the first test match against England. He was happier to see Jasprit Bumrah’s contribution with the bat in India’s first innings.
“Formidable lead for #Team_India after some important runs added by the tail. It‘ll be interesting to see how England responds after being behind. By the way, @ Jasprit Bumrah93 just played the shot of his life today”, tweeted Tendulkar.
It is hard to say which shot off Jasprit Bumrah is Sachin Tendulkar is referring to as he smashed three fours and a six in his brief knock of 28 runs from 34 balls. But the six he hit in the 92nd over in Sam Curran’s bowling was eye-catching, guess it may be this is the shot Sam Curran was referring to. Jasprit Bumrah targeted the right bowler that is Sam Curran who was not looking in good touch in his bowling. It was Sam Curran over where Jasprit Bumrah hit two fours and a six.
It is interestingly Jasprit Bumrah highest score in the test while batting for India. This isn’t the first time he showed his potential with the bat. It was in last year when Jasprit Bumrah played a practice match ahead of the test series in Australia. He scored a half-century against Australia A team in The Sydney Cricket Ground.
It was on Friday again where he again gave a valuable contribution or India with the bat. He and Mohammed Siraj added 33 vital runs for the last wicket. Which pushed India over a 250 run-mark and 95 runs lead which put India in dictating terms in the context of the test match.
