The first innings of the SRH vs LSG of IPL 2026 Match 10 witnessed a dramatic shift in momentum as Sunrisers Hyderabad battled through early setbacks to post a fighting total. A disastrous power play pushed SRH on the back foot, but a brilliant recovery led by Heinrich Klaasen and Nitish Kumar Reddy revived the innings. However, disciplined death bowling from Lucknow Super Giants halted the late surge, turning a strong comeback into a challenging yet competitive total.

SRH vs LSG: Power Play Broke the Backbone of Hyderabad

Sunrisers Hyderabad endured a disastrous power play against Lucknow Super Giants as early wickets completely derailed their start. Abhishek Sharma fell for a duck to Mohammed Shami on the final ball of the first over (0.6), setting the tone.

Travis Head departed at 2.1 overs after playing one square, while captain Ishan Kishan was beaten by Prince Yadav’s pace and dismissed soon after. The first six overs turned into a nightmare for SRH, managing only 22/3 and losing early momentum.

SRH vs LSG: SRH Tried to Make a Comeback, Klaseen and Reddy Fought Well

After a disastrous power play at 22/3, Sunrisers Hyderabad tried to rebuild during the middle overs. Liam Livingstone struggled to accelerate and was dismissed for 14 (20) at 7.1 overs, leaving SRH under pressure at 26/4. The recovery then came through Heinrich Klaasen and Nitish Kumar Reddy, who stabilized the innings brilliantly. Klaasen played aggressively while Reddy rotated strike and punished loose deliveries.

Between overs 7 and 15, the duo rebuilt momentum with a crucial partnership, taking SRH past 90 runs and shifting the game’s flow after early damage. By the end of the 15th over phase, SRH had recovered thanks strongly to Klaasen (62 off 41) and Nitish Kumar Reddy (56 off 33), turning survival into counterattack.

SRH vs LSG: Sunrisers Made a Reputable Total

Strong recovery in the middle overs, Sunrisers Hyderabad entered the death phase with momentum, but Lucknow Super Giants pulled things back brilliantly. The turning point came in 18.1 overs, when Heinrich Klaasen was dismissed for 62 (41) by Avesh Khan, caught by Rishabh Pant while attempting an attacking shot. This wicket broke SRH’s backbone just when acceleration was needed.

Soon after, wickets continued to fall under pressure. Nitish Kumar Reddy, who scored a fighting 56, departed shortly after the partnership ended, triggering a collapse. Lower-order batters Aniket Verma, Shivang Kumar, and Harsh Dubey failed to add significant runs as LSG bowlers executed yorkers and slower balls effectively.

In the final overs, Harshal Patel managed a late boundary, but SRH kept losing wickets, including a late run-out, as LSG dominated the closing phase. The visitors picked up 5 wickets for just 22 runs in the last three overs, completely stopping SRH’s finish.
