Updated IPL 2026 Orange Cap And Purple Cap List: Lucknow Super Giants were bowled out for 146, which was not enough for them to win this match. The Royal Challengers of Bengaluru easily chased down the target, winning the match with a comfortable number of overs left in the innings.

LSG: 146 all out

RCB: 149/5

Result: RCB won by 5 wickets

Updated IPL 2026 Points Table: In the TATA Indian Premier League (IPL) 2026, match 23 saw the reigning champions, Royal Challengers Bengaluru (RCB), take on the Lucknow Super Giants (LSG), who both came into the game after having very different results prior to this match.

However, RCB won the game fairly comfortably by five wickets, with Captain Rajat Patidar calling incorrectly at the toss and electing to field first.

RCB made one change to their last XI in bringing in Josh Hazlewood to play for Jacob Duffy, while LSG fielded the same XI as their previous match against the Gujarat Titans.

LSG got off to a good start with Mitchell Marsh and Aiden Markram opening their innings. Marsh was dismissed early by Rasikh Dar after edging to Devdutt Padikkal from a leg-side delivery.

Josh Hazlewood got a quick wicket after Rishabh Pant came to the crease. Pant was injured when Hazlewood hit his elbow and had to leave the game early.

This allowed Nicholas Pooran to bat and be run out very quickly by Hazlewood, also. LSG kept getting out, but Ayush Badoni (38 off 24), Marsh (40), and Mukul Choudhary (39 off 28) did get some points and take the team to an all-out score of 146 runs from 20 overs. Rasikh Dar achieved four wickets in this inning.

The start was good for RC Bharath as their batsman, Phil Salt and Virat Kohli, were doing fine although Salt did not last long. However, Kohli soon picked up the pace for RC Bharath and helped them finish the powerplay at 60/1. After Padikkal had gotten out, Patidar started putting more momentum into the innings with some aggressive batting.

Kohli ended up just short of a half-century (49 off 34), getting out to Avesh Khan. However, Patidar (27 off 13) and Jitesh Sharma (23 off 9) continued the pressure on LSG. In the end, Tim David and Romario Shepherd got it done for RC Bharath, collecting 14 runs each and winning the match with five wickets to spare.
