Klaasen-Kishan powered Sunrisers Hyderabad to a massive total
Coming to the match, Pat Cummins-led SRH showcased an all-round performance. PBKS skipper Shreyas Iyer invited the hosts to bat first, and they posted a massive total of 235 for 4 in their 20 overs, thanks to an impressive fifties from Ishan Kishan (55 off 32) and Heinrich Klaasen (69 off 43). Meanwhile, openers Abhishek Sharma and Travis Head also contributed crucial runs, as they stitched together a 54-runs opening partnership.
Talking about the chase, PBKS started on a shaky note as they were reeling at 4 for 2 in 1.1 overs. However, Australian star all-rounder Cooper Connolly kept their hopes alive with a brilliant knock, smashing an unbeaten 107 off 59 balls. Connolly received no support from the other end as wickets kept falling in regular intervals. Skipper Cummins led the bowling attack as he returned with figures of 2/34, while Shivang Kumar also picked 2 wickets conceding 45 runs.
Table toppers SRH will next be seen in action on May 12 against Shubman Gill-led Gujarat Titans at the Narendra Modi Stadium, while Shreyas Iyer’s side will look to bounce back in their next IPL match against Delhi Capitals on May 11.
