The IPL 2026 Qualifier 1 will be played on 26th May 2026 at the historic Dharamshala Stadium, after an intense IPL 2026 playoffs qualification race. The top four teams who qualified are Royal Challengers Bangalore with 18 points at the top of the table, Gujarat Titans with 18 points in 2nd position, Sunrisers Hyderabad at number 3 with 18 points, and Rajasthan Royals with 16 points at number 4. This season will be a historic one as all the teams are both explosive and balanced at the same time, and each team can seal the title as well.

Is Bowl First a Good Option in the IPL 2026 Qualifier 1 at Dharamshala Stadium?

As per historical trends, it has been noted that the team that bats second wins 2 out of 3 games. The reason for this is pretty simple because batting becomes easier when the ball gets older, and as Qualifier-1 comes with high stakes, both the captains, Shubman Gill and Rajat Patidar, will go with the safer option of chasing second and take their team one step closer to the IPL 2026 title, so if either of the captains wins the toss, they should go for chase later.

Is the Dharamshala Stadium pitch pace-friendly?

As per records, the pitch of Dharamshala Stadium comes with both spin and pace-friendly conditions, as Piyush Chawla, the legendary spinner, has taken 13 wickets, and Arshdeep Singh has taken 9 wickets. But the pitch seems more pace-friendly because the mountain air helps pacers to swing more perfectly and take wickets, and it becomes hard for the batters to score runs then. In IPL 2026 Qualifier 1, pacers like Bhuvneshwar Kumar and Mohammed Siraj will display a great show for the fans and crowd.

GT and RCB Match Records at Dharamshala Stadium

Gujarat Titans vs Royal Challengers Bangalore will face each other in IPL 2026 Qualifier 1, and a fascinating record is that Gujarat Titans has never played a single match at Dharamshala Stadium, whereas RCB has played 3 matches at Dharamshala Stadium, and won 2 out of them, in the seasons 2013, 2024, and 2026. This gives an edge for the RCB as they’ve played their recent match at Dharamshala and know much more about the conditions than GT.
