Arsenal dominates Spurs

Arsenal may have turned their early-season slump in form around. The gunners stamped their authority on Spurs as they ran riot in the first half at Emirates Stadium.

Emile Smith Rowe opened the scoring for Arsenal meeting a delightful cut back from Saka on the right-hand side. Arsenal was energetic and purposeful on the press and made life harder for Spurs.

Anytime Spurs lost the ball Arsenal immediately went on a counter-attack, and every attack smelled danger in it. The gunners moved the ball around with purpose and were effective in finding men in between the lines.

It was not the performance any Arsenal fan would have envisioned from their side a week or two ago. Although it is admittable that they took their foot off the gas in the second half, it seemed finally Arteta’s vision has finally passed onto the players.

Aubameyang and Saka get onto the scoresheet

Aubameyang doubled Arsenal’s lead in yet another effective counterattack, as he slotted the ball home from a Smit Rowe cut back. Thomas Party winning the ball from Harry Kane played it to Odegaard. The Norwegian exchanged the ball with Emile Smith Rowe. The Englishman returned Saka his favor by releasing him on the wing. Saka went on a solo run and after a minor tangling with Kane managed to slot the ball home for his side’s third goal.

Arteta went euphoric with the Arsenal faithful on the sideline. It was an Arsenal performance that was not seen after the Wenger era. The gunners could have scored more if not for their wastefulness.

Meanwhile, Son scored the consolation goal for Tottenham, who are in serious trouble. Spurs have lost all three of their last three games, and have conceded 3 goals in all three matches. It is worth noting that they did not concede a single goal in their first three matches.

Arsenal has turned their season for now, as they were bottom of the league on matchday 3. On the other hand, Spurs have dramatically slipped from being top of the table to 11th spot.
