The 2021 French Open is in its final stages of the tournament as we witnessed one of the Men’s Singles Quarter-finals match between India’s Lakshya Sen up against South Korea’s Heo Kwang-hee on Friday, 29 October 2021.
The 2021 French Open is a Super 750 Level Tournament and is being held at the Stade Pierre de Coubertin in Paris, France, from 26th to 31st October 2021. The other Indians who have reached the QF round are the Men’s Doubles pair of Satwiksairaj Rankireddy/Chirag Shetty & Women’s Singles star-player PV Sindhu.

Lakshya Sen had won by two straight games in both the First Round & Second Round of the tournament against Ireland’s Nhat Nguyen and Singapore’s Loh Kean Yew respectively.
Whereas, Heo Kwang-hee had faced Viktor Axelsen in the First Round but the Tokyo Olympic Champion had retired from the match which led Kwang-hee to advance into the next round. In the Second Round, Heo Kwang-hee wins in two straight games against Chinese Taipei’s Wang Tzu-wei.
2021 French Open QF: Lakshya Sen out of the tournament as he lost to Heo Kwang-hee
This Men’s Singles QF – Lakshya Sen vs Heo Kwang-hee – was played on Court 2. India’s Lakshya Sen is World No. 22 whereas his opponent Heo Kwang-hee is Ranked 35th in the world.
Meanwhile, both are unseeded at the 2021 French Open. The Head-to-Head record shows that – they have only met once before at the 2018 Hyderabad Open, where it was the South Korean Heo Kwang-hee winning in two straight games.
But at the 2021 French Open, in 1st Game, India’s Lakshya Sen was leading 11-7 during the mid-game interval but the South Korean shuttler made a great comeback as he levelled at 17-17 then clinched the opportunity to win four consecutive points as he won 21-17.
The 2nd Game was dominated by South Korea’s Heo Kwang-hee, as he won 21-15 and clinched the match.
As a result, Heo Kwang-hee won in two straight games 21-17, 21-15 against Lakshya Sen in about forty-three minutes.
