5 NBA Players With the Most Scoring Titles

Defence wins championships, therefore, despite the fact that offence can win a game, everyone agrees that defence is more crucial than offence like that of George Mikan. Any coach will most likely say that, at the very least. The most remarkable aspect of basketball is its offensive and fans adore it when a player scores 40 or 50 points in a game.

George Mikan

One of basketball’s early innovators, George Mikan completely changed the sport and went on to become a legend. The 6’10”, 245-pound centre was capable of everything, including scoring, grabbing rebounds, and defence.

By the way, Mikan won the scoring title three times in a row. He scored 28 points per game on average over that time period, with a 41.7 field goal percentage. Mikan was a player who was years ahead of his time; he was on a whole other level.

Neil Johnston

Paul Arizin and Neil Johnston both played for the Philadelphia Warriors a few years before Wilt Chamberlain. Arizin and Johnston were a fantastic team; the former won the scoring championship twice, while the latter won the title three times.

Between 1952–1953 and 1954–1955, Johnston won the scoring crown three times in a row, scoring 23.1 points per game in 214 games. And to top it off, throughout that time he averaged 13.4 rebounds per game.

Bob McAdoo

Another member of the NBA Hall of Fame, NBA legend, and winner of three straight scoring championships. Bob McAdoo averaged 30.6 points per game during his sophomore year (1973–1974), which helped him earn his first scoring championship. He averaged 34.5 points per game the season after, and 31.1 points per game in 1975–76, for a back-to-back-to-back.

Even though he was unable to guide the Buffalo Braves to a championship, McAdoo was unstoppable with them. McAdoo averaged 22.1 points and 9.4 rebounds per game over his 14-year NBA career.

James Harden

It’s interesting to note that James Harden won the scoring title for three straight seasons. It makes sense for a player to win the scoring championship in back-to-back seasons since it symbolizes his career’s pinnacle and shows how dominant he was at that time, at least in terms of points scored.
