The Brazil National Football team is drawn in “Group G” alongside Serbia, Switzerland and Cameroon. They are set to compete against Serbia in their opening match in Group G on 25 November 2022 for the FIFA World Cup.

The Brazil National Football team, often recognised as “A Seleção“, meaning “The National Team”, and “Canarinho”, which means “Little Canary”. It is generally administered by the Brazilian Football Confederation (CBF). The CBF has been a member of FIFA since 1923, as well as a member of CONMEBOL since 1916. Currently, the team is led by Tite, who was appointed in 2016. As of now, he has helped Brazil reach the Quarter-finals of the 2018 FIFA World Cup, achieving the 2019 Copa America trophy, and bag the runners up position during the 2021 Copa America tournament.

However, Brazil is said to be the most successful team in the now-defunct FIFA Confederations Cup, achieving it four times, in the years of 1997, 2005, 2009, and 2013. As per FIFA’s ranking system, Brazil is said to have the record of maximum “Team of the Year” first ranking wins with 12. Moreover, numerous commentators, experts, and former players have considered the 1970 team as one of the greatest football teams ever. Later in 1996, the Brazilian national team achieved around 35 consecutive matches undefeated, a feat which they held as a world record for nearly 25 years.
