Mumbai Indians captain Rohit Sharma took to his official Twitter profile to reveal a message for a special cause, posting pictures from yesterday’s IPL 2021 opener against Royal Challengers Bangalore.
In the first match of the Indian Premier League played on the ground of Chennai, Mumbai Indians and Royal Challengers Bangalore faced each other. In this match, RCB won the toss and called the Mumbai Indians to bat first, during which a message was seen written on the shoes of the captain of Mumbai Indians Rohit Sharma, whose image is becoming quite viral on social media.
It was special for me to take a cause so close to my heart with me on the field while I do what I love. Every step matters. 🦏❤️ (2/2)

Let me tell you, the message of “Save the Rhino” was written on these shoes of Rohit, which is for the protection of rhinos. Rohit has also made it clear that he will bat for the rescue of the now dying rhino.
Apart from this, Rohit Sharma is associated with the campaign of “Rohit 4 Rhinos”, which together with WWF India and Animal Planet works to raise awareness for the protection of rhinos.
Rohit had shared this information on Twitter for the first time in 2019, in which he wrote, “We must try to save other species as well. ‘The future is in our hands. We must do everything to ensure that our children can enjoy the biodiversity of the world. ”
There are approx. 3500 #Greateronehornedrhinos in the world today; 82% of them in India. Join me to #batforrhinos on #worldrhinoday and support measures to protect these animals in the wild. Log onto https://t.co/Qnhv9NhdHu to support the cause. @WWFINDIA @AnimalPlanetIn pic.twitter.com/iMUy315MAr

I hope that more people will come forward with this campaign themselves and join it to join Animal Planet, WWF India, and me to save the rhinos.
Meanwhile, Mumbai Indians faced a two-wicket defeat in the opening match of the season against RCB. Rohit, who started his innings brightly, was run-out due to miscommunication with MI debutant Chris Lynn on 19.
MI scored 159/9 batting first, while the RCB chased the target on the final delivery of the match.
The five-time IPL champions will return to the field on April 13 when they take on the Kolkata Knight Riders in Chennai
