Franchise records are the highest scoring and winningest records for all franchises in a given sport and game. They are achieved by the franchise that has won most games, scored the most points, or had one player win multiple individual awards. Many fans love to keep tabs on these historical franchise records to see which team is likely to make history by breaking these historic feats. 

Many teams are in a close race to see which franchise will set new records. It can also be a fun way to see if a team has already beaten a former record or is quickly catching up. Some records are likely to never be broken regardless of how much the sport changes over time. Also, some records are unlikely to ever be broken because they simply were impossible in the first place. 

Some franchises have set records that they will surely hold forever while others struggle to find the magic and edge needed to keep up with their rivals. The most well-known and watched leagues set the most franchise records that receive the most attention due to their high number of games played and fans watching every game.
